Second Harvest donates food to fire victims

DAVENPORT, Wash. – A local food bank stepped up Wednesday to help wildfire victims in Lincoln County.

Second Harvest packed up a small truck with fresh fruit, juices, crackers and various other foods to help displaced families and firefighters. The food went to Davenport’s local food bank.

“It's a natural place for emergency places to outreach to us, you got food what can you do, and there is always a need for water and juices for firefighters on the lines,” said Second Harvest Community Relations Julie Humphreys.

Humphreys said it is important to be able to provide something quick and healthy to eat for those firefighters on the go.
