HAYDEN, Idaho – One person is dead after an SUV hit a semi head on early Saturday morning.
Idaho State Police said the crash happened around 3:00 a.m. on Highway 95 just north of Hayden.
Officials said Samantha Wolf, 31, was going southbound in the northbound lanes when she hit a semi that was traveling northbound.
Authorities said Wolf was wearing a seatbelt but was pronounced dead at the scene. In the semi the driver, Samarpal Khaira, 23, and his passenger, Purewal Sukhpreet, 31, were transported to Kootenai Health. Officials have no released any information about their conditions.
A friend of Wolf's, Heidi Token said she was a single mother to three children.
"She is vivacious and kind and would do anything for anyone. She once drove from Sandpoint to Spokane just to help me move some boxes and wouldn't take any kind of offer of payment. She was just there for everyone, always, she loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing. She was the most genuine girl I've ever known," said Token.
ISP is still investigating the crash.
