Woman hurt in hit-and-run wreck

KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit and run that happened in Hayden on Monday involving a car and a bicycle.

According to deputies, around 5:55 p.m. they were called to the intersection of Honeysuckle Avenue and 4th Street for a reported collision between a car and a bicycle.

When deputies arrived on scene they found a 28-year-old woman in the crosswalk. A witness, the woman’s 8-year-old daughter, said the male driver of the blue car looked at both of the bike riders and took off westbound on Honeysuckle Ave. Deputies were unable to locate the car.

The woman was taken to Kootenai Health with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
