KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – While authorities in Idaho continue Thursday to investigate the murder of a Post Falls man, a focus is on surveillance video showing two people using the truck and ATM card of the man who died.
Investigators are now asking the public for more help in identifying the person(s) responsible for the death of William “Bo” Kirk. Kirk was found dead on Tuesday after being reported missing by his wife on Saturday night when he did not come home from work.
Authorities said a family friend found Kirk’s body in the Hayden Creek area of the Coeur d’Alene National Forest.
Investigators asked any businesses along Government Way and the Hayden area to provide any possible surveillance tape they may have from Saturday evening when Kirk first went missing.
KREM 2 News’ Taylor Viydo went back to the area where Kirk went missing and walked along the stretch of road looking for cameras that may have caught a glimpse of Kirk’s truck or the suspects.
First, Taylor started at the US Bank in Dalton Gardens where surveillance video gave the best look to date at the suspects as they withdrew money from Kirk’s account at a drive-thru ATM.
Authorities said that is where the men in Kirk’s truck first went to get money.
Then, about two miles down the road along Government Way, the Bank CDA branch. There were no obviously noticeable cameras in the area that Taylor could see.
So for the last stretch, about a half mile part of the road from Hayden City Hall to Hayden Avenue we walked it and spotted three distinct security cameras.
It is worth noting that we very well could have missed some cameras during our search. We were only looking from the sidewalk and did not approach businesses directly. The cameras could have been too small to spot from far away – like a GoPro for example.
If you have any video that could prove useful, please contact the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
