Post Falls Police Department's first K9 dies

POST FALLS, Idaho – Post Falls Police announced Tuesday that one of their retired police K9s has passed away.

K9 Koda was the department’s first K9 and he started in late 2009. Officials said he came to work when he was 2-years-old and retired in 2015 after spending six years with his handler Officer Bowne.

Post Falls Police said Koda was diagnosed with a neurological disorder and it forced him into retirement. They said he has spent the last few years resting comfortably with Officer Bowne and his family at home.
