Man missing in CDA National Forest found dead Sunday

Officials said Mark Arnold, 54, was found dead early Sunday morning.

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the man missing in the CDA National Forest was found dead Sunday morning.

Officials said Mark Arnold, 54, was found dead early Sunday morning. He had been reported missing by his family Saturday after he went to go pick up mushrooms on Thursday and had not been heard from since.

According to authorities, Arnold's car was found around 9:00 a.m. on Forest Service Road 335 in Shoshone County, near Hemlock Mountain.

Preliminary investigation shows that Arnold's car somehow left the road and wrecked. The wreck happened about two miles from the Kootenai County and Shoshone County line.

Multiple agencies assisted in the search for Arnold.
