Coeur d'Alene street closures for road construction this summer

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho --- The City of Coeur d’Alene is getting three miles of new asphalt on streets through the community through mid-August, drivers are urged to use caution while in road work areas.

Streets where old asphalt is ground up and new asphalt is placed include Front Avenue and portions of its side streets between Eighth and Twenty-First; Hanley Avenue between Ramsey Road and Highway 95; and Dalton Avenue between North Stafford Road and North Pleasant Way. The attached maps show all the closures. All information is from the Deputy City Administrator, Sam Taylor.

Motorists are asked to use caution in these areas, traffic control is in place to guide motorists. Residences within these zones are directly notified of the work so that vehicles and other property can be removed from the street during grinding and paving.

The 3.31 miles of asphalt overlay work is being done by Poe Asphalt Paving for more than $500,000.

The overlay work with the city’s chip seal program and other street crew work, Coeur d’Alene spends about $1.2 million annually on street maintenance.
