Accused N. Idaho attempted bank robber arrested in Montana

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A man accused of trying to rob a Coeur d’Alene bank was arrested in Montana on Monday.

Authorities believe Alex Wesley Jenkins, 35, tried to rob the Bank of America on West Appleway Avenue on August 31. Officials said a man passed a note to a teller demanding money but fled before police got there.

Authorities identified Jenkins as the suspect, and they were actively searching for him. A warrant for robbery and burglary was issued for his arrest.

Jenkins was contacted in Missoula, Montana on Monday by Missoula Police. He was arrested without incident. Jenkins is currently in custody in the Kootenai County Jail.
