Wilson Creek man killed in single vehicle crash

GRANT COUNTY, Wash ---A 47-year-old Wilson Creek man killed in single vehicle roll-over crash, Saturday evening.

Thomas Veenstra was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger which crashed sometime Saturday late afternoon or evening, on Road Q-Northeast south of Road 25-Northeast. He died at the scene.

Veenstra’s family notified sheriff’s deputies around eight p.m. Saturday that Veenstra had taken the Challenger out for a drive but had not returned after several hours. Deputies searched the Wilson Creek area and later found the crash scene.

Veenstra’s body is in the care of Coronoer Craig Morrison whose staff will conduct an autopsy.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit believe the Challenger was traveling at high speed when Veenstra lost control, struck a roadside embankment and rolled, coming to rest on its top. Veenstra was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
