3.4 earthquake felt in parts of North Idaho

IDAHO-- Shaking stirred people in parts of North Idaho on Monday afternoon. People began writing KREM 2 News about 1:10 p.m. to report feeling an earthquake.

Reports came in from viewers near Ponderay, Sagle, Sandpoint and Spokane. Expert Paul Bodin with the University of Washington said the preliminary reading was for a 3.8 magnitude earthquake near Sandpoint, Idaho. Bodin works with the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

Scientists later narrowed in on the epicenter and reported it was under Lake Pend Oreille and downgraded the strength to a 3.4

Dispatchers with Bonner County said they had not received any reports of damage in that area after the earthquake.
