SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.—A local woman failed to catch a purse-snatcher Wednesday and was pushed to the ground by the suspect.

Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a robbery call at a Zip Trip early Wednesday morning.  The woman said a man stole her purse while she was pumping her gas near Trent and Vista Road.

She claimed the suspect asked her if she had any spare change. She told the suspect she did not have any change and watched as he walked to the driver’s side of her vehicle. The suspect than  grab the woman’s purse from the front seat and run according to authorities.

The woman chased the suspect and caught up to him. Authorities said the suspect grabbed her head, pushed her to the ground and kept running.

Her purse was later found by a citizen and returned to her.

The woman described the suspect as a possibly black male, 5’10”, wearing a brown hoodie and blue jeans.
