SPOKANE -- Spokane Police investigators obtained a warrant to search a home where a drive-by shooting occurred overnight.
Officers responded to 4207 N. Jefferson at 3:15 a.m. after witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots.
Police said a party at the house was just letting out at the time of the shooting. When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old girl who had been shot at least twice in the upper torso.
Officers administered first aid for bleeding until paramedics arrived.
The victim was taken to nearby hospital for treatment. She received surgery and was listed in critical but stable condition Tuesday morning.
Major Crimes detectives began interviewing witnesses. No suspect description or a cause of the shooting was immediately available.
Police asked people to avoid the area as they conduct their investigation.
