NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. -- A teenager swerving to avoid a disabled car ran into an oncoming vehicle, injuring that driver.
It happened Tuesday around 7:30 near Nine Mile Falls in Stevens County.
The Washington State Patrol says Justin P. Price, 17, crossed the center line of Swenson to drive around a car stalled in the northbound lane. Price struck an oncoming car, killing the passenger, 72-year-old Jonina Lorene Flyckt. The driver, 73-year-old Gary Leroy Flyckt, was taken to Sacred Heart for his injuries.
Charges are pending against Price.
