SPOKANE -- Spokane Police have extra patrols in Riverfront Park Tuesday morning, as they continue their search for the man who attacked a high school teenage girl who was jogging Monday morning.
Spokane Police say the high school freshman was attacked as she ran through the Park at about 7:15 Monday morning. It happened near the Clock Tower, where the girl said an unknown man grabbed her as she stopped to adjust some equipment.
Spokane Police Officer Tim Moses tells KREM.com "she fought him off pretty fiercely." A witness nearby saw the attack, approached, and the attacker ran Northbound through the park. Officer Moses says the girl usually jogs with a group, but happened to be by herself Monday morning.
The man is described as white, between 25 to 35 years of age, about 5'8" tall, 170 pounds with blondish colored hair and a goatee. He was wearing a blue or purple hooded sweatshirt.
