SPOKANE, Wash. -- A woman taking her niece to school was assaulted and robbed outside of Progress Elementary School, according to the Spokane Co. Sheriff’s Office.
It happened around 11:15 a.m. in the school parking lot.
The woman told police she was walking back to her car from the school when a man struck her in the back of the neck and stole her cell phone and purse. He fled southbound on Progress on foot.
The victim described the suspect as a white man in a dark jacket, jeans and a baseball cap. He appeared to be in his late twenties.
The woman was treated and released for her injuries.
