SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police arrested a hit-and-run suspect after a crash in North Spokane Monday.
Authorities said the vehicle that caused the crash at Cedar and Wabash took off after the collision. The other driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injures.
According to SPD, several witnesses claimed to have seen a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the area. One of the witnesses was able to provide a license plate for the suspect vehicle and a description of the driver, later identified as Roderick Thomas, 25.
Police said another witness had seen the damaged suspect vehicle pull into a house, dragging its front bumper on the ground as it parked in a garage near N. Cedar and W. Columbia Ave. That witness flagged officers down and told them where the car had parked.
Officers took Thomas into custody without incident, investigators said. He was booked into jail for Felony Hit-and-Run with Injuries. Major Crimes Collision investigators responded and planned to continue the investigation to determine if additional charges were warranted.
Thomas was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon.
