SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash.—The July 24th windstorm that blew through Spokane is causing backups at Spokane area disposal sites one week later.
On Saturday, Spokane County disposal sites offered to accept storm debris for free. The freebies ended Thursday but people are still dumping truckloads of branches at the sites.
Transfer stations workers estimated that 1,400 people stopped by between Saturday and Thursday to drop off storm debris. All the branches added up to about 318 tons according to workers.
