SPOKANE -- Whitworth University has a new president. The Board of Trustees announced Friday the appointment of Beck Taylor, Ph.D., as the university's next president. He will assume his duties on July 1.
Taylor will be coming to Whitworth from Samford University, in Birmingham, Alabama where he is dean and professor of economics for the Brock School of Business. With a commitment from Harry Brock, found of Compass Bank, to establish a $100 million endowment for the school, Taylor helped lead a transformation that included renaming the school and establishing eight new academic programs.
