SPOKANE -- A Spokane woman is going to jail for crashing a wedding and stealing the gifts.
Elisa Degon says the day she married her husband last summer was the perfect day, and it lasted until police called her on her honeymoon in Hawaii to tell her there was a problem.
"It kind of ruined the honeymoon," says Degon.
Police say Pamula McBride showed up at Degon's reception uninvited and stole more than $1,000 worth of gifts and gift cards from the newlyweds.
Degon says she was heartbroken and couldn't believe it.
"We lost a lot of gifts," Degon said. "She took presents that my family brought us and we don't know who brought them. There are checks, money we'll never get back."
But it turns out this wasn't McBride's first time crashing. She was convicted of crashing a wedding in Lewiston one month before Degon's wedding and sentenced to 45 days in jail.
Spokane Police say McBride likely won't be prosecuted for stealing gifts at the Degon wedding, a thought that upsets the bride.
"We heard she won't be prosecuted in Washington, but she needs to be. It's only fair, she ruined my wedding and my honeymoon."
