SPOKANE -- Call in a burglary or fight?  The Spokane County Sheriff's Ofc. reports deputies were  there in an average of seven minutes in 2011.  Robbery and weapons calls: an average of eight minutes.

That's some of what we found when KREM 2 checked Spokane County Sheriff's Ofc. response times for serious calls last year.  Overall, it took deputies longer to respond compared to 2010.  The Sheriff's Ofc. cites losing positions over the years, but also just the location of the calls in 2011 compared to the year before.  The sheriff's office can address the second factor by analyzing call locations and placing deputies accordingly.

While overall response time was up in 2011, deputies responded to burglary calls faster, on average, compared to 2010.
