SPOKANE -- A woman on Five Mile Prairie says she is tired of having prowlers and people stealing from her and no one doing anything about it. But police say there is little they can do.
Connie Suchomel was ripped off two nights ago. She called Crime Check but says she keeps getting the same answer which is police do not have enough people.
Suchomel found the door to her camp trailer open. Someone had pried the lock open and unloaded whatever they could get. Connie says it happens a lot.
She says people park on her dead end street and roam around the neighborhood. She has caught people looking in her windows, casing her house, throwing rocks.
A Spokane Police spokesperson says they would like to have an officer on every corner. But they do not have the money or the manpower. So they have to prioritize. Connie says that is not what she wants to hear.
Connie also says she cannot keep reporting things to her insurance company because her rates will go up. Eventually she could get dropped altogether.
