SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police arrested a vehicle theft suspect who rammed another person car while trying to get away from officers.

Police responded to a call around noon on Thursday to a report of a suspect painting a car with house paint and a squeegee on North Regal near East Joseph.

Authorities said a citizen blocked the car with his car because he thought the car might have been stolen.  The suspect then started ramming the person’s car and when he realized he could not escape, he fled on foot.

Officials said the citizen chased the suspect down and they got into a fight.

Police said a different homeowner came out with a handgun and held the suspect at gunpoint until officers arrived on scene minutes later.

The suspect, Roscoe Wood, 24, was taken into custody. Wood was also arrested less than a week ago for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

Wood was booked into jail on two counts of 2nd Degree Assault, two counts of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and 2nd Degree Malicious Mischief.

No one was injured during the incident.
