QUINCY, Wash. -- Child Protective Services took four children into custody after police busted two people for a marijuana grow bust, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Neighbors alerted police to suspicious activity at the house at #5 B-Street-Northeast in Quincy, which is within 1,000 feet of an elementary school. Their tips led to a six month investigation into Luis Carlos Perez, 26, and Maria Del Carmen Farias, 31.
Narcotics detectives say they made undercover purchases in that time. They finally raided the home Thursday. Detectives allegedly found nearly 60 grams of marijuana, seven marijuana plants, prescription pills and two loaded handguns, along with thousands of dollars.
Investigators seized the evidence and two cars, and dismantled the growing operation.
Perez and Farias were booked into the Grant County Jail for a slew of charges including manufacturing of marijuana with intent to deliver.
