SPOKANE COUNTY -- The Spokane County Sheriff's Office has had almost two-dozen vehicle prowling incidents reported to Crime Check since Monday.
In the past two days there have been several prowlings reported in the Greenacres area between Barker Rd. and Harvard Rd., and north of Sprague Ave. to the area of the Spokane River.
A large majority of the victims either left their doors unlocked or windows rolled down because of the hot temperatures. Several of the vehicles also had valuables, such as electronics, purses and wallets, in plain sight inside their vehicles.
Most of the prowlings were committed at night.
