CHENEY, Wash. -- Fire and heavy smoke forced people from an apartment building in Cheney early Tuesday morning.
The apartments are just a few blocks from the Eastern Washington University campus. A man living there tells KREM 2 News a car alarm woke him up at about 2:30 a.m. then he saw a truck on fire outside the apartment building.
Firefighters say it appears the fire from that truck spread to the building. At this point firefighters say the fire could be suspicious in nature.
They also say it everyone living in that building is going to have to find a temporary place to stay.
