Train collides with car near Post Falls

POST FALLS, Idaho -- Medics transported one man to the Kootenai Medical Center after a train collided with his car near Post Falls.

Emergency workers responded the call around 8:15 a.m.

Police said 39-year-old John S. Cheatham was northbound on Grange Avenue when he failed to yield to a westbound Union Pacific Train. After being struck, Cheatham’s vehicle was carried by the train to the next crossing at Chase Road.

Cheatham was the only person in the car at the time. He was unconscious when taken to the hospital. There is no word on the extent of his injuries.
