SPOKANE, Wash. -- Construction work nears completion on a $14 million mixed-use facility on the Gonzaga Campus.
The University has already moved services into the building including it's bookstore and dining hall. It also has a 650 car garage.
The building is called the Boone Avenue Retail Center or BARC for short. This will replace the old building known as the Cog.
People who work in the building said there's more space and better lighting.
Gonzaga's Resident Dining Food Service Director, Don Harris, could not be more pleased with the marketplace dining hall.
"We've got designated area throughout the whole kitchen, depending on what station that culinarian's working at and they have their space, their little piece of real estate that they can do their work," said Harris.
This dining hall replaces the Cog and it's set to be demolished this summer. $60 million dollars will be spent building a new university center. It is set to open in two years.
