SPOKANE, Wash. -- Feed Spokane says one of its vans used to collect food donations was broken into.
It happened in the 5800 block of East Railroad Avenue in Spokane Valley.
Thieves took three heavy-duty batteries used to run the van’s lift gate and refrigeration system.
Feed Spokane collects leftovers from local restaurants, stores and other vendors for those in need.
The organization says this is a financial blow to the group, which has already been dealing with a dip in donations in a down economy.
