COLFAX, Wash. -- Authorities said alcohol may have played a role in a fatal crash near Lacrosse Sunday afternoon.
It happened about 5 miles southwest of town when Taylor Martin, 19, lost control of his car.
Investigators said the Martin may have been hunting with Amanda Drewer, 19, when they went up a steep hillside. Martin lost control of the car, causing it to roll several times, killing Drewer.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Martin, who was also injured, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He is believed to have suffered a possible broken neck but was listed in satisfactory condition.
Neither Martin nor Drewer were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, according to police.
No word yet if any charges would be filed in the case.
