SPOKANE, Wash.-- It’s the last day of summer for students in the Spokane School District.
Classes begin Tuesday morning, and teachers say this is an exciting time of year.
The district hired some new teachers for the 2012-2013 school year, including Wendy Fitzgerald. She’s been on the job less than a week at Regal Elementary. Fitzgeralld frantically tried to prepare her room and supplies but says she’s going to leave some of that to her kids.
“That’ll be the opportunity for them to fill it up. We’ll hang their art and hang up their math. It’s their classroom,” she said.
A handful of the teachers say they’re willing to go all out when it comes to their clasrooms. They receive about $200 for decorations and necessities.
