MOSES LAKE, Wash.—A Moses Lake police officer fired a shot that killed a suspect at a disturbance call Monday night. That suspect has been identified as 54-year-old James Eshelman.
Eshelman had been involved in a disturbance, causing the officers to respond to the 2000 block of S. Belair Drive, according to police.

Police said Eshelman was armed with a large knife when officers contacted him.
The officer was placed on administrative leave as standard protocol for this type of incident, according to police.
The Columbia Basin Investigative Team was investigating the incident on Tuesday.
