SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Authorities arrested a suspect Friday who was driving a stolen car. During the arrest, a Spokane Valley deputy discovered he had multiple warrants and meth in his pocket.
A Spokane Valley sheriff’s deputy ran the plates of a white Crown Victoria Friday night that passed by him on Thierman. The deputy later confirmed the car had been stolen from Walla Walla.
The deputy followed the car to E. 6th where the driver, 42-year-old Jerome Grimes, got out and approached an elderly woman. The deputy spoke with the woman who said she had never seen Grimes before.
Grimes was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. When the deputy checked Grimes’ driving status it showed that he was suspended and he had four local warrants for his arrest.
When the deputy searched him, he found a white crystalline substance that Grimes admitted was meth.
Grimes was booked into jail for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Suspended and four warrants.
