POTLATCH, Idaho-- A man attempted to kidnap a 12-year-old girl in Potlatch Friday afternoon, according to the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.
The girl told police she was approached by the man while walking in the alley between Cedar and Larch Streets just before 3:30 p.m.
The man reportedly tried to entice the girl into his home. She ran away and told her mother, who called police.
An Idaho Fish and Game Officer was in the area and located the suspect, Shawn Pickler II, 23. He was detained for questioning. A warrant was then issued for Pickler for enticing Enticing of Children, a misdemeanor crime. He was arrested Wednesday morning at his home. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
