SPOKANE-- A motorcycle reported stolen almost 37 years ago was recovered Thursday by the Washington State Patrol.
A woman brought the 1972 Honda XL250’s in to be inspected. The motorcycle’s VIN didn’t even come up in the current system because of its age. Once its identification number was located, WSP realized this motorcycle had been stolen on November 21, 1975.
WSP found the original owner, who had not seen his motorcycle since it was stolen. Troopers returned it to him Friday.
No charges will be filed against the person who brought the motorcycle in for inspection.
