SPOKANE, Wash.—Spokane Valley firefighters put out a fire at a structure with five businesses inside it on Saturday morning. A 911 caller reported at 12:04 a.m. that flames and smoke were coming from the roof of a possible warehouse near E. Knox Avenue and N. Woodruff Road.
Firefighters said the sprinkler system inside the building had not been activated and said the fire was confined to the roof.
After the fire was put out, officials said there was a small amount of water damage throughout the businesses. Fire crews said damages estimated about $20,000 for roof materials and about another $10,000 for the water damage.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Saturday. There were no reports of injuries.
