SPOKANE-- Saturday afternoon officers went to the 1600 block of West Cleveland. They were looking for 39-year-old Joel Cardenas. He has a nationwide extraditable for a sexual assault charge. Officers didn't find him at the time. They were called back to the same house just before 8:30 p.m. As officers talked with the people living at the home, Cardenas jumped out of a second story window and took off running. The officers were able to locate him hiding in a backyard about a block away. He was arrested and treated for minor injuries. He is now in the Spokane County Jail.
