SPOKANE— Police arrested a man early Monday after a stand-off that lasted six hours in Spokane.
Authorities spent the night outside the home on First and Fiske in East Spokane.
Police said it started around 11 p.m. when they showed up to arrest the man for violating a protection order. They said the man, in his late-30’s, came at officers with a shovel then barricaded himself inside the house.
Authorities launched three rounds of gas into the home trying to force the man out. Eventually, just after 4 a.m., the man surrendered to officers.
Police then served a search warrant on the home searching for any weapons the suspect may have kept inside. No word yet if that searched turned up any weapons.
No word yet on the man’s identity or what charges he may face.
