SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.-- A three-hour stand-off ended peacefully Saturday morning in Spokane Valley. Multiple Spokane Valley Sheriff’s deputies and SWAT members responded to the intersection of East 3rd Avenue and South Park Road, where a wanted felon was believed to be armed and dangerous.
Authorities went to the residence at 8:45 a.m. in an attempt to locate the convicted felon, 35-year-old Keiley E. Herrin, who reportedly fired a pistol into the ground near two people during an argument on Tuesday. Deputies said Herrin was in the garage, but would not respond or exit the building. SWAT members, negotiators and additional deputies were called to the scene to assist.
Authorities said Herrin exited the garage, unarmed, and was taken into custody at about 11: 45 a.m. after multiple attempts to negotiate. Detectives then obtained a warrant to begin searching the building.
Herrin was booked into the Spokane County Jail on Felony charges for Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
