SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Spokane Valley Sheriff's deputy and his K9 partner, Laslo, tracked and caught a wanted felon Thursday evening.

The deputy was patrolling Valleyway and University when he recognized a man walking down the street as Daniel Spicer, 36. The deputy ran his name and found that he was wanted for multiple felony warrants.

While the deputy was looking for Spicer, he recognized another man, Tyler Chapman, 37 riding a bike. He ran his name and found he too was wanted for multiple warrants.

Officials said the deputy called for back up. The deputy and K9 Laslo tracked Spicer to a duplex on the 400 block of North University where Chapman was last seen. Spicer voluntarily came out of a unit and was taken into custody.

The deputy and K9 went to another unit where Chapman was found in the bedroom. After a struggle Chapman was taken into custody.

Authorities said Chapman was treated by medical staff then transported into the Spokane County Jail. He was charged with new misdemeanors of resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.
