SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police are reminding people not to leave cars running while they are unattended.
Authorities said five cars were stolen in one week while they were left idling. Of those stolen cars, four of them were recovered.
This includes the most recent one that was recovered near the intersection of Regal and Upriver. The victim chased down the car thief in another vehicle.
Police warn that warming up a car and leaving it unoccupied can create an opportunity for thieves and put citizens in unnecessary danger. You can also be given a $124 fine.
