SPOKANE, Wash. -- A website call ‘The Street’ compiled data from cities all over the US to create a list of the cities with the most police activity. Spokane landed the number two spot.

It is all based on crime calls for service per capita. This does not mean crime is out of control in the city. Spokane Police leaders said violent crime is down nearly 25%.

The article put out on the website show that in 2013, for our population of 212,000, there were 20,191 reports made to police.

Spokane Police leaders said they may respond to many calls but many turn out to be nothing. Both violent crime and property crime are down.

Despite the positive trend, the department is hoping to increase their staff soon.

Other cities on the list include Little Rock, Salt Lake and Atlanta.
