Spokane, Wash. -- Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub said he will increase police presence in places where people gather in Spokane due to the bombings in Boston.
Chief Straub vows to dedicate every resource he can to keep the streets of Spokane safe while the investigation continues in Boston.
He said Spokane is not immune to this type of mass violence and he is working hard to keep the community safe.
The Chief has been briefed on the situation all day Monday and said he is confident Spokane is not in any immediate danger.
Chief Straub said he was at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and attacks on citizens touches him very deeply.
He has close friend in the Boston Police Department and used to be a marathon runner.
