SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Spokane City Council is expected to support keeping open the control tower at Felts Field.
A resolution is expected to be read Monday night and it should list several reasons why city officials feel the control tower at Felts needs to be open.
Moody Aviation manager, Cecil Bedford says the tower adds a significant level of safety to the company's flight school.
Felts Field control tower is one of 150 other towers that could be closed.
The Spokane City Council detailed several reason why traffic controllers are needed and cited Moody Aviation concerns.
The resolution states more than 120,000 take offs and landings happen a year at felt and Spokane International and says the tower plays a critical role in protecting people in the air and on the ground.
