FAIRCHILD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash.--The Office of the Secretary of Defense determined that the Pay Our Military Act allows some furloughed civilians from Fairchild Air force Base to return to work. The recall will ensure missions can continue without interruption according to leaders at Fairchild AFB.
Leaders announced that as of Monday the library, education center, military testing office, pre-teen/teen center, youth sports and family child care office were back open.
The commissary is expected to reopen on Tuesday, October 8 according to Fairchild officials.
“Every member of the Air Force team is important to accomplishing our mission. We need to be good wingmen and help each other through these uncertain times,” said A1C Janelle Patino with Fairchild.
Many civilians across the Federal Government still remain furloughed.
