COEUR D’ALENE -- The Coeur d’Alene Holiday Light Show kicks off Friday night with a fireworks show.
This is the 26th year of the event, which shows off 1.5 million lights.
There are more than 250 light displays at The Coeur d’Alene Resort’s entrance, along the Resort Floating Boardwalk, and on the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
15 resort employees worked for eight weeks to set up the displays, using five miles of electrical wiring.
The 40-minute Journey to the North Pole cruises depart throughout the evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. The boat travels across the lake to meet Santa and his Elf at the North Pole. Santa lights up a giant animated Christmas tree and calls out the names of each child onboard.
Tickets are $18.75 for adults and $17.75 for seniors 55 and older. Ages 12 and under ride free with adult.
Opening Ceremonies on Nov. 23 includes a lighted parade through downtown, Christmas carols, candle lighting and a fireworks show over Lake Coeur d’Alene. Festivities start at 5:00 p.m.
