SPOKANE-- A little soil and a few vegetables were causing a big controversy in one South Hill neighborhood Monday.

Jude Cormier is disabled and planted the garden in front of her condo to help her gain strength. Cormier told KREM 2 News she never thought her 12 by 14 foot garden would grow into such a problem.

Cormier's condo association is planning on ripping it out.

Condo association rules state all condo owners must get permission from the board members before doing something like planting a garden. The Association President said Cormier did not.

Cormier isn't backing down. “I'll go to jail for this…Why? Because this is unfair, this is retaliation...I will not let them do this to me,” said Cormier.

The Condo Association President said it’s nothing personal against Cormier; they just can't bend the rules for anyone.

The president said they are being lenient enough letting Cormier keep her garden until next spring when they plan to take it out.
