HAYDEN, ID. -- Police confirm the suspect in Tuesday's fatal shooting in Hayden has been found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to the report, the body of Chad Moore, 35, was found in the Hayden Creek area at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, about 100 yards from his burned-out pickup truck. A rifle and handgun were found near his body.

Kootenai County Sheriff's Deputies say Moore shot Ryan William Taylor, 28, in Building C at the Lakeview Village Apartments at 10102 Government Way around 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Deputies say Moore was married to Taylor's ex-wife, and believe Taylor showed up at the couple's apartment to confront Moore about domestic issues. Deputies say Moore shot Taylor after he answered the door and then fled in his blue and white Toyota pickup truck.

Taylor was taken to Kootenai Medical Center where he died a few hours later.

Around 5:00 p.m., local SWAT teams swarmed the woods a few miles east of the apartment complex in the Coeur d'Alene National Forrest.

Deputies used Moore's cell phone records to track him to that location. The last call he made with his cell phone was at 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Spokane Sheriff's Office helicopter helped search for Moore and his vehicle from the air.
