SPOKANE, Wash. -- Shirts created to honor the families of three fallen Fairchild Airmen have raised $44,520. A fundraiser launched online on May 7th sold 3,535 t-shirts.
Proceeds from the $20 shirts will go to the families of Capt. Mark T. "Tyler" Voss, Capt. Victoria A. "Tori" Pinckney, and Tech. Sgt. Herman "Tre" Mackey III.
The three airmen died when their KC-175 crashed in Kyrgyzstan.
Brandy Tiffany came up with the idea for her husband who was deployed overseas. Then other’s wanted to own the shirt too. Former KC-135 tanker Boom Operator, Sarah Sevigney, worked with Tiffany on the t-shirt campaign at Fairchild.
The t-shirt features the Manas Transit Center squadron path, the names of the airmen, and the name of the mission, which was Shell 77. There’s also a poem on the back of the t-shirt that was written about the crash by a retired air crew member.
