SPOKANE VALLEY--The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a wanted felon Thursday night.
The Sheriff’s Office received a tip from a family member of 32-year-old Glen Bill around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. Bill had an active felony Department of Corrections Escape warrant and the family member said he was possibly armed with a stolen firearm.
The family member told Sheriff’s Deputies that Bill had called and said he was walking near Mirabeau Park by the river in Spokane Valley.
About an hour later a Sheriff’s Corporal saw a man matching Bill’s description near the 13200 block of East Mirabeau Park Drive. Several additional units, including Air1 and an SPD K9 unit, responded to the scene.
Bill refused multiple commands to lie on the ground and was reaching for his waistband and a duffel bag he had in his possession.
The K9 unit was deployed and Bill was safely taken into custody. A stolen handgun was found inside his duffel bag along with a bag of methamphetamine.
Bill was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, 2nd Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree Possession of Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer.
