SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies along with K9 Laslo located and arrested 3 adult women for felony charges Saturday.
A deputy was checking the area of Argonne Road and Montgomery for 3 adult women who they believed had escaped from a drug treatment facility. A person had reported they saw the women walking away from a drug treatment facility in the 12700 block of Mission. They were reportedly wearing what looked like hospital wristbands.
The deputy saw the women leaving the Denny’s on North Argonne through an emergency exit and he called for back up.
Another deputy and his K9 partner, Laslo, arrived to assist and saw the women run into the parking lot of a Motel 6. One of the women was identified as Natalie Benish, 21, who had 2 confirmed felony warrants outside the county. When the deputy pulled into the parking lot and got out of his car, he ordered the women to stop.
One of the women, Harly Benders, 23, stopped immediately but the other two women, Benish and Tawni Kosnosky, 25, continued to run. Then, the deputy threatened to send Laslo after them.
Kosnosky immediately stopped and put her hands up but Benish continued to run. The deputy sent the K9 after her and was quick caught.
Kosnosky and Benders were transported to jail and booked on felony DOC warrants. Kosnosky was cited for an additional misdemeanor charge of obstructing a peace officer.
Benish received medical treatment then was transported and booked into jail on felony warrants. She was cited for obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
